2 DIVES WITH REALLY STRONG CURRENT.

14 December 2020 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: strong
Viz: 20m on the surface, 15m on the bottom
Sea Temp: 24 degrees Celsius

DIVE 1 – Southern Pinnacle: As we backwards rolled we had a Bull (Zambezi) shark under us waiting to say Hello. Soon afterwards we had our first Hammerhead sighting getting us real excited for a Hammerhead dive. In the end we only saw 2 schools of Hammers. As we made it to Sandshark Gully we spotted at least 30 Guitar sharks. As we drifted off we had 2 Bull (Zambezi) sharks come and drift along with us, one of them coming real close when  I flashed for his attention.

DIVE 2 – Northern Pinnacle: With a drift dive planned over the caves, we went straight over, looking inside we could see no Ragged-tooth sharks. Continuing with our drift we came across two schools of Hammerhead sharks. Whilst still with the reef we also had a good size Brindle Bass come and play with us on this dive. From start to end about 60 minutes dive, we had drifted 4 KM!!!
