4 SPECIES OF SHARKS ON PROTEA BANKS DIVE TODAY!

3 December 2018 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: normal
Viz: 8m bottom, 15m mid water
Sea Temp: 20 degrees at bottom – 23 degrees Celsius mid water

Southern Pinnacle: As we got to the reef it was chilly and decreased viz, but lots of action at the bottom. The dive started with us seeing several Ragged-tooth sharks scattered over the reef. Then two Dusky sharks came in to play. We also had a HUGE Zambezi (Bull) shark pass by. Also entertaining us were 2 Potato Bass and a Round Ribbontail Ray. Coming up to mid water the water got warmer and cleaner, I was ready for Hammerhead shark spotting and I was not disappointed. Two BIG shoals of Hammerhead sharks and 1 Hammerhead shark just behind a big shoal of Rainbow Runners. Whales could be heard throughout the dive.

A great morning diving.

Flying fish and Dolphins seen from the boat.
