A couple of Ragged-tooth sharks still hanging around …

1 December 2012 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: mild
Viz: 5m at top, 15m from mid water down to bottom
Sea Temp: 18 to 21 degrees Celsius

DIVE 1 – AREA 51: Beautiful part of Protea Banks to explore! Plenty of pinnacles and canyons to explore. Loads of reef fish, as well as 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark. Also saw 1 Potato Bass with a Hammerhead in the distance behind it. Shoaling Tuna and Fusliers – WOW and also saw a couple of Nudibranchs the bottom.

DIVE 2 – Northern Pinnacles: Got to the first cave and had fun looking in the depths of it with a torch. A couple of Ragged-tooth sharks hanging round and also 1 Potato Bass. Plenty of reef fish to see as well.

DIVE 3 – AREA 51: Not a long dive because viz was getting worse at this point. But still managed to see plenty of reef fish before coming up to our safety stop.
