DIVE 1 - Southern Pinnacle: 1 TIGER shark ... so close ... I thought he would eat Bryan ... lol. 1 Greater Hammerhead shark. Zambezi (Bull), Oceanic Blacktip sharks and Dusky sharks all over ... INCREDIBLE. More than 20 Guitar sharks. 4 DOLPHINS seen overhead. 6 Eagle Rays. 4 Round Ribbontail Rays. Shoaling gamefish. Kingfish on Kingfish Gully. A huge Pufferfish. An EEL ... Lol. Some stunning jellyfish today. Remora's all over. ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL DIVING!!!

We did a double tank. Between dives we snorkeled, the viz was so good we could see the reef below ... and just for some added spice some DOLPHINS came to swim with us.

DIVE 2 - Southern Pinnacle (THE ARCH): At least 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks and at least 1 Oceanic Blacktip sharks. 3 Dusky sharks. More than 20 Guitar sharks. 3 Eagle Rays. At least 4 Round Ribbontail Rays. 1 Potato Bass. Rainbow Runners and Bonito. Another cute Pufferfish. Lots of Remora's and some Jellyfish.

On the way back we saw a 'teenager' HUMPBACK WHALE ... so early in the season it was amazing!!!

With flat seas and top to bottom viz, PROTEA BANKS is the place to be!!

More than 10 Guitar sharks. 3 Eagle Rays. At least 4 Round Ribbontail Rays. 1 HUGE Musselcracker. Shoaling Barracuda, Kob and Kingfish and more ...! On the safety stop 6 Remora terrorizing us ...lol. DIVE 1 - BAITED SHARK DIVE: 1 TIGER SHARK. At least 5 Zambezi (Bull) sharks, at least 10 Oceanic Blacktip sharks and about 3 Dusky sharks. Also Tuna and Bonito flying in. Lots of Remora's. ONE OF THE MOST STUNNING BAITED DIVES EVER, SO ACTION PACKED!!!

DIVE 2 - Southern Pinnacles: 1 TIGER shark. More than 8 Hammerhead sharks.At least 5 Zambezi (Bull) sharks and 5 Oceanic Blacktip sharks. Shaoling Dusky sharks. More than 10 Guitar sharks. 3 Round Ribbontail Rays. 1 Eagle Ray. A shoal of Barracuda. Lots of Kingfish. Seriously ... we did not know in what direction to look in, as at any one time there were several species of sharks around. Lots of Remora's. A flippin INSANE DIVE!!!!.

DIVE 1 - BAITED SHARK DIVE: 1 TIGER shark briefly at the beginning. A few Zambezi (Bull) sharks and 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark.1 very active Remora. A few Tuna. Dolphins heard throughout the dive.

DIVE 2 - Southern Pinnacles: 5 Zambezi (Bull) sharks. 4 Oceanic Blacktip sharks. 2 GREATER HAMMERHEAD SHARKS that came in very close ... whoop, whoop!! 1 Round Ribbontail Ray. 1 Remora. Shoaling gamefish and some reef fish. Dolphins seen jumping from the boat ... REALLY, REALLY, REALLY good dive!!!

Southern Pinnacles: Excellent diving today!!!! With the strong current the viz was fantastic, just a bit grey mid water. At least 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks and 2 Oceanic Blacktip sharks. 1 TIGER shark ... it still counts even if it was only seen briefly ... lol. At least 5 Guitar sharks on Sand Shark Gully. Several Round Ribbontail Rays also seen.
Several big shoals of gamefish.

Also a MARLIN seen from the boat.

Southern Pinnacles: Eish ... what a disappointment after Saturday. We dived, we saw an Eagle Ray, some reef fish very fast due to current ... and a HUGE array of Plankton. On the up side we saw Dolphins from the boat just before we got in ...

Southern Pinnacles: A really good dive at the viz was fantastic. The dive was action packed with at least 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks and 2 Oceanic Blacktip sharks popping in and out of the dive. Also a Potato Bass and a Round Ribbontail Ray. So so so many gamefish, including Bigeye Kingfish, Bonito and Kob and more ...

AND THEN THERE WAS PLANKTON!

Southern Pinnacles: So after the mind blowing few days on Protea Banks, I must admit that today was a bit of a damp squib. The current was strong and the water was full of Plankton which really reduced the visibility. 1 big Zambezi (Bull) shark seen by only me at the bottom. In mid water there was a very brief encounter with another shark. Also a big shoal of Bonito. Some reef fish as well, but current to strong to take much notice.

On the up side the sea was soooooooooooo flat toady!

DIVE 1 - Southern Pinnacles: BEST DIVE EVER! A GREAT WHITE!!! WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW! 10 shoaling Hammerhead sharks. Lots of Zambezi (Bull) and Oceanic Blacktip shark action. A few Round Ribbontail Rays. Lots of gamefish. A SUPER INCREDIBLE DIVE ... that I will dream about for a very long time.

BAITED SHARK DIVE: WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! What an action packed baited SHARK dive today! The dive started with a TIGER SHARK, unfortunately not all the divers got to see it as it did not hang around for a long time. 2 crazed Potato Bass. 3 Zambezi and 2 Oceanic Blacktip sharks in and out of the dive for the whole dive. In the middle of the dive we had a pod of about 20 DOLPHINS come past, they had two baba's with them ... AWESOME. The dive was also filled with 'flying' Tuna, Bonito and lots of other fish ... wicked!!!. EPIC DIVE!!!!!

High 5 to Jenelle for seeing her first TIGER ... sorry granny Michelle ... you need to be a bit faster ... hehe!!!

Northern Pinnacles: With the current strong we made it all the way to La La Land which is stunning. On the bottom we had a TURTLE, 2 Potato Bass and some reef fish - that we got to see very quickly due to current. The was also a Zambezi (Bull) shark at the bottom. In mid water we had some more shark action - Zambezi (Bull) sharks, Oceanic Blacktip sharks and a GREATER HAMMERHEAD SHARK. Also so much interesting Plankton in the water.

DIVE 1 - Southern Pinnacles: We had some good action with Zambezi (Bull ) sharks popping in and out from mid water to the safety stop. A few reef fish and gamefish at the bottom. Also a Round Ribbontail Ray.

DIVE 2 - Southern Pinnacles (THE ARCH): As we got to the bottom some big Rainbow Runners as well as HUGE Kob. The Arch itself was full up with Kingfish - stunning. We also saw 3 Round Ribbontail Rays at the bottom - 1 was massive. In mid water we had some Zambezi (Bull) shark action. Nice chilled dive!!!

DIVE 1 - Southern Pinnacles: WOW, WOW, WOW!! So so so many gamefish on the dive today. We dropped into 100's and 100's of Bonito. Shalonig jod fish, Kob, Bigeye Kingfish and so so so much more. Also has a Zambezi (Bull) shark and Oceanic Blacktip shark on the reef. Also a Round ribbontail ray ans a Potato Bass. In Mid waterr we had some more Zambezi (Bull) shark and Oceanic Blacktip shark action. STUNNING DIVE!!!!!

DIVE 2 - Northern Pinnacles: A NUDIBRANCH ... just for Peter. Some shoaling Rainbow Runners. 1 small Potato Bass. The Zambezi (Bull) shark action started at the bottom and they followed us all the way to the top. We had at least 4 different Zambezi (Bull) sharks. TOP NOTCH DIVING!!!

Southern Pinnacles: GREAT DIVE!!! 2 Hammerhead sharks next to Kingfish Gully with lots of Kingfish around. Then 1 Zambezi (Bull) shark. Then 1 Great Hammerhead shark. As we were coming up we spotted 2 Round Ribbontail Ray. Also shoaling Kob and Barracuda with 2 Oceanic Blacktip sharks following them. In mid water we had another Oceanic Blacktip shark. Lots of interesting Plankton mid water. A great day out to sea!!

PROTEA BANKS BACK TO NORMAL ... it was definitely Hilary and Linda that are a bad luck combo!!!

DIVE 1 - Southern Pinnacles: Strong current so it cleared up the viz on the dive and we could see again. The Pinnacle Ridge was full up with reef fish and on Kingfish gully, there were ... Kingfish. All seen a bit quickly due to current. In total we had 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks and 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark. 1 Round Ribbontail Ray. Lots of interesting Plankton on the safety stop. Nice dive!

DIVE 2 - BAITED SHARK DIVE: 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks, only 2 stayed for the entire dive. 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark. Some Tuna.

All in all a great day on Protea Banks!

Viz: 15m grey mid water, 8 to 10m at the bottom
Sea Temp: 17 degrees Celsius at bottom, 22 degrees Celsius on top

Southern Pinnacles: Lots of reef fish and a Zambezi (Bull) shark in the beginning of the dive. Also 2 Potato Bass. A big shoal of juvenile Rainbow Runners. One Bigeye Kingfish on Kingfish Gully. Also one Round Ribbontail Ray on the reef. Coming up we looked down on Sand Shark Gully and there were Round Ribbontail Rays a as far as the eye could see - I have never seen so many together. It was EPIC!!!. In mid water we had a Zambezi (Bull) shark pop in twice. Lots of Plankton. A great dive!
