We also had lots of Kingfish in Kingfish Gully. The water has warmed up now to a nice 20 degrees so hopefully we will have the Hammerhead sharks soon!!

Dolphins and Humpback Whales seen from boat. Good dive!!

A GREAT DAY OUT AT SEA!!

6 August 2013 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: medium to strong
Viz: 10m, murky
Sea Temp: 20 degrees Celsius

Southern Pinnacles: For the first part of the dive there was a strong current so although there were probably a lot of reef fish to see, it all went by pretty quickly and no sharks, so I was cursing thinking that Lisa had taken all the luck back to Cape Town with her. After 20 minutes the action started, 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark, then another and another. Well lets just say the next 40 minutes of the dive the Oceanic Blacktip sharks were in and out the whole time, with us seeing up to 3 at one time. We heard Whales for most of the dive and were so loud I was sure we would have a sighting, but not this time. Lots of interesting Plankton today. A GREAT DAY OUT AT SEA!!

ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING!!!!!!!

DIVE 2 - Southern Pinnacles: Like a baited dive but without the bait. 5 Oceanic Blacktip sharks that stayed with the divers for the entire dive. A GREAT DIVE AND REALLY PRETTY!

A few Humpback Whales seen from the boat.

ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING!!!!!!!

DIVE 1 - Northern Pinnacles: 3 HUMPBACK WHALES including a 'BABA' that really was like a puppy and just wanted to play with the divers. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Oh and then a MINKIE WHALE on the safety stop. If this is not enough there were also 2 Bull (Zambezi) sharks, 3 HAMMERHEAD sharks and 4 Oceanic Blacktip sharks. Also 1 Potato Bass and the reef just full of reef fish.
