BACK ON PROTEA BANKS FOR SOME SUPER REWARDING DIVING.

5 whole months. That’s how long it has been, 5 months dry … today we broke the surface tension and finally did some awesome dives!! Double tank both on the Northern Caves.
First dive we were greeted by one of our regular big Potato Bass, with a very slow current we worked our way towards the caves, seeing only 2 Ragged-tooth sharks on our first dive. After seeing 2 Oceanic Blacktip sharks in mid water we got to our safety stop and kept looking around for the Whales we could hear. Divemaster Kyle popped up with the group and noticed the WHALES just 50m inshore of the group, after a few tumble rolls the WHALES pulled in for a quick look coming right under the group and sped off on their course northwards.
Second dive we did the caves again, this time with a good number of about 10 Ragged-tooth sharks in the 1st cave, we spent majority of bottom time with the Ragged-tooth sharks and did a nice easy ascent with 2 Oceanic Blacktips coming in close and 2 Hammerheads keeping their distance from us. All in all a very good first day back in the water.
