24 November 2018 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: mild
Viz: 10 – 15m
Sea Temp: 22 degrees Celsius

DIVE 1 – Southern Pinnacle: On the reef we had 10+ Ragged-tooth sharks, 1 Eagle Ray, 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark in the distance and loads of reef fish. Mid water we had 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark.

DIVE 2 – Southern Pinnacle: What a chilled dive!! As we got to the reef we had 3 Ragged-tooth sharks staying around with us for a few minutes. The reef was amazing with lots of reef fish everywhere, with a Potato Bass in the distance. Lots of schools of Bigeye Kingfish and Rainbow Runners. As we started to multilevel we had 2 Zambezi (Bull) sharks. Mid water we had an Oceanic Blacktip shark make a quick appearance before we got out the water.

DIVE 3 – Northern Pinnacle: On the reef we came down into a bunch of Ragged-tooth sharks. In the first cave we had no sharks but on the reef we had a few around us. We had 1 Huge shoal of Hammerhead sharks swimming over us, after we had the shoal of Hammerhead sharks we had one single swimming Hammerhead shark and it stayed for a few seconds circling us. Mid water we had 1 Oceanic Blacktip shark.

DIVE 4 – Northern Pinnacle: On our way down to the reef we had an Oceanic Blacktip shark. As we got to the first cave we had a massive shoal of at least 100 Hammerhead sharks pass right above and around us!!! No sharks in the cave however we had a few around and on the rest of the reef. Mid water we had an Oceanic Blacktip shark popping in and out.

Some GREAT Humpback Whales and Flying fish seen from the boat.

The sea was a bit rough, but the diving was so worth it!!!!
