LOTS OF COMMON DOLPHINS SEEN FROM THE BOAT!

14 January 2015 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: very strong
Viz: 5 – 10m
Sea Temp: 20 degrees Celsius on the bottom, warmer mid water

Southern Pinnacles: The viz was not amazing. Cleaner coming down but from mid water to the bottom, dark and cold – no sunlight, if we had had some it would have been better. Lots of reef fish on Kingfish Gully. We also saw 2 Round Ribbontail Rays at the bottom. Not much action until the last 20 minutes and then we had regular sightings of 2 Oceanic Blacktip sharks that kept on popping in and out.

Just after we surfaced a HUGE pod of common dolphins came through – it was great to be in the water with them. They were so friendly and swimming right up to us.
