WHAT A STUNNING DAY ON PROTEA BANKS … SO MUCH WHALE ACTION!

18 June 2016 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: strong
Viz: 20m
Sea Temp: 22 degrees Celsius

Northern Pinnacle: The current was very strong today so we got to to see the reef speed past us. On the reef we has a Ragged-tooth shark, 2 Greater Hammerhead sharks and a Potato Bass. As the dive went on the action picked up. We had at least 4 Oceanic Blacktip sharks popping in and out, 2 Zambezi sharks that stayed deep and another Greater hammerhead shark.
On the surface we had a Humpback Whale swim not more than a 1m under us … frigging EPIC!!! We could also hear the Whales underwater.

From the boat we saw a lot of Humpback Whales and a Marlin jump out of the water.

With great viz, lots of action and flat seas, I know why I love Protea Banks.
