NON STOP ACTION AND A MANTA RAY … ON PROTEA BANKS!!

12 November 2015 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: medium to strong
Viz: 30m+ top to bottom
Sea Temp: 22 degrees Celsius

DIVE 1 – Southern Pinnacle: Got in the water and were amazed by the great viz … top to bottom. The reef was stunning, some Bigeye Kingfish on Kingfish Gully and a Potato Bass. Lots and lots of reef fish. As we hit Sandshark Gully the action was out of this world – a HUGE shoal of Hammerheads sharks. Underneath we had at least 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks, some Oceanic Blacktip sharks and Guitar sharks. Also a couple of Round Ribbontail Rays seen. And the action did not stop till we got onto the boat. 1000’s more Hammerhead sharks, Zambezi (Bull) sharks and Oceanic Blacktip sharks popping in and out. And just to end it off a Copper shark. WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, and WOW … did I mention WOW!!!!!!!

DIVE 2 – Southern Pinnacle: So how do you beat a first dive like that … oh easy … you throw a Manta Ray into the mix – that was seen at the end of the dive. The rest of the dive was action packed. Shoaling Hammerhead sharks, Zambezi (Bull) sharks, Oceanic Blacktip sharks and lots more Guitar sharks on this dive. The reef was stunning but viz was slightly reduced.
What can I say, if you want to be having the best diving ever … you need to be on PROTEA BANKS at the moment … it is truely MIND BLOWING diving!!!

Flying fish seen from boat.
