PROTEA BANKS … WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW AND WOW!!!!

3 July 2015 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: medium
Viz: 20m+, reduced on the second dive
Sea Temp: 21 degrees Celsius

DIVE 1 – Northern Pinnacle: The first cave was filled with Ragged-tooth sharks. There were also a few outside the cave. Apparently 1 Tiger shark, but only seen by a few divers. If that was not enough, the rest of the dive was action packed. We did not know which direction to look. At lest 4 Zambezi (Bull) sharks. More than 10 Oceanic Blacktip sharks in and out the dive till we surfaced. If that was not enough we had at least about 4 to 5 Hammerhead sharks come by mid water and another one just before we got out. Also 6 DOLPHINS that stayed for a bit. 3 Eagle Rays. Shoaling Rainbow Runners. Lots of reef fish. Really cool and interesting Plankton, but not really any time to take much notice. The sound of Whales was so loud, they were just a few meters out of sight. WHAT A FRIGGIN AWESOME DIVE!!!! WHOOP, WHOOP AND WHOOP!!!!

If that was not enough, we followed the dive with an EPIC baited shark dive!

DIVE 2 – BAITED SHARK DIVE: At least 3 Zambezi (Bull) sharks and more that 10 Oceanic Blacktip sharks. Also 3 Hammerhead sharks … lol.
Lots of Humpback Whales also seen from the boat!!!

PROTEA BANKS is definitely the place to be diving at the moment!!!
