WHAT A WAY TO START THE WEEK … OUTSTANDING DIVING ON PROTEA BANKS!!!!!

23 May 2016 | PROTEA BANKS

Current: mild
Viz: 10 – 15m
Sea Temp: 23 degrees Celsius

Northern Pinnacle: As we hit the water the action started with some Oceanic Blacktip sharks popping in and out. And it just got WAY WAY WAY better. We made it to both the caves and they were overflowing with Ragged-tooth sharks – must have seen at least 50++ Ragged-tooth sharks. At the bottom I also spotted 2 TIGER SHARKS. The whole time we were on the reef we had Oceanic Blacktip sharks buzzing around above us – I did not know if we should look down or up … lol. Also a massive Zambezi (Bull) shark on the reef, 5 Potato Bass and a Brindle Bass. As we started going up we saw a MANTA RAY … wow, wow, wow!!!!!! The rest of the 70 minute dive was non stop action. So many Zambezi (Bull) and Oceanic Blacktip sharks popping in and out – they were still visiting us while we were trying to get out the water … lol. Also some Rainbow Runners popped in to say hi. Lots of Remora action.

Dolphins were also seen on the way out to Protea Banks.

What a friggin EPIC DIVE!!!!!
